Social Pressure: Drypoint Night

Hillocks by Heather Halpern

Hillocks by Heather Halpern

Whiteaker Printmakers is hosting a Social Pressure event on Wednesday, September 30, at 6:30 PM.  These events are our way of inviting everyone -- experienced or not -- to come enjoy  creative printmaking.

The theme this month is drypoint printmaking -- a simple technique using a plastic or metal plate to create an intaglio print.  As usual, we have room for 8 people to participate in the printmaking, and those slots will fill up on a first come, first served basis.  We will provide all the tools and materials, so just come with any idea in mind for your artwork.  (If you have your own tools, feel free to bring them!)

And also as usual, we want everyone to come, and enjoy a no-pressure evening!  Refreshments will be served.  Whether you've come before or not, we'd love to have you!  As a special treat, you will see some amazing print artwork that Heather created this summer, and just took down from a show.  It's now hanging on the walls at WhitPrint.  If you haven't seen these large-format drypoint and monotype prints, you really should.   (An example is on this page.)

We do ask for a $10 materials fee from those who wish to participate in the printmaking.  Everyone else is welcome to make a small -- and entirely voluntary -- donation to help further WhitPrint's mission to be a resource to the local printmaking community.
