Social Pressure: Monotype Printmaking

Join us at the studio for another "Social Pressure" event, an evening of socializing, refreshments, and hands-on printmaking. Tonight you can try your hand at monotyping, the art of spontaneously working a smooth, inked plate to produce a unique print.

We are excited to have Eugene printmaker Mika Aono Boyd in the studio this night to guide and inspire us. Mika is a technician at the UO Art Department, managing the Printmaking and Fibers studios where she has collaborated as a printer with Rick Bartow and Tannaz Farsi. See more about her at: mikaboyd.com

Come print with us, or just hang out. We have tools and materials available for about 8 hands-on participants -- arrive on time if you want to be one of them. The materials fee covers all the supplies you'll need. We provide aprons, too, but don't wear your best clothes -- ink can be sneaky.

We do ask for a $10 materials fee from those who wish to participate in the printmaking.  Everyone else is welcome to make a small -- and entirely voluntary -- donation to help further WhitPrint's mission to be a resource to the local printmaking community.

The evening starts at 6:30PM, printmaking will begin at about 6:45.
